The Magic-Pen works through the natural reaction of our organism to reject foreign bodies. The ink is not identified as natural, and our body seeks to extract it. The trans epidermal pigment removal [T.E.P.R] technique activates ink identification, and the foreign body rejection process begins. This technique is a reverse tattooing method, but rather than injecting ink, it injects solution that dissolves the ink.
The Magic-Pen makes small dots to remove the tattoo pigment spaced 5mm between each dot. T.E.P.R uses medical grade needles that are set to precise depths in the skin, targeting the epidermis and dermis. Lactic acid solution is then introduced into the penetrated skin. Lactic acid is what’s naturally secreted from our muscles during physical activity. This ingenious new method uses our bodies own metabolism, the ink is identified and then naturally eliminated by our own bodies.
Like tattooing this procedure causes a partial thickness wound, then the healing process begins around and under the skin where the treatment was performed. Immediately part of the ink comes out of the skin and after approximately two weeks the effected skin drops off taking the tattoo pigment with it. T.E.P.R. wounds heal pale and flat leaving minimal to no scaring if the wound is not scratched or picked whilst healing. The T.E.P.R technique is applied to clean, shaven skin prepared with an alcohol cleanser.
